FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: coating consists of adhesion layer successively applied on surface of tool. The layer has a composition Nb+µCr+νZr, where λ, µ and ν are weight shares of corresponding metals, values of which are chosen within ranges from 0 to 1, while λ+µ+ν=1. Further, this coating consists of transit layer of composition αNbN+βCrN+γZrN, where α, β and γ are weight shares of corresponding nitrides, values of which are chosen within ranges from 0 to 1; α+β+γ=1 Also, the transit layer contains at least one nitride of metal entering composition of the adhesion layer and nano structured wear resistant layer consisting of repeating complex of nano layers χNbN+δCrN+εZrN, where χ, δ and ε are weight shares of corresponding nitrides in each nano layer, values of which are chosen within ranges from 0 to 1; χ+δ+ε=1. The first nano layer contacting the transit layer has a similar to it composition.
EFFECT: improved quality of tool with coating due to high adhesion of layers between them.
