FIELD: instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: radioisotope thickness gauge has source of ionizing radiation in working container with two collimation holes having different diameters, first radiation detector, first counter of pulses with controlled recalculation factor, second pulse counter with switches of presetting and means of reading of measured parameter, second radiation detector, pulse adder, third pulse counter with switches of presetting and univibrator. It is provided with fourth pulse counter and switches. Random component of measurement error decreases in measurement of material thickness due to insertion of recalculation of pulses from output of second radiation detector, reliability and ease of calibration of thickness gauge are enhanced. EFFECT: increased precision thanks to reduced statistic component of measurement error without increase of activity of radiation source and enhanced reliability. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
