FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises applying ultrasonic oscillations directed perpendicular to the surface to be strengthened and parallel to the axis of a part. The frequencies of the oscillations are the same. The perpendicular oscillation applied to the opposite sides of a part to be strengthened are shifted in phase by 1/2 of a period, whereas the perpendicular oscillation is shifted in phase with respect to the parallel one by 1/4 of a period. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
