FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: this method makes it possible to manufacture ingots without using patterns or pattern tooling. Flasks of nonmagnetic material are filled up with structural-reversible agent having magnetic properties such as magnetic-rheological suspension (MRS). Center directed gradient field is created in a flask volume due to superposition of magnetic fields. Force lines of the center form equipotential surfaces equidistant to ingot shape. Nonmagnetic nonmiscible processing liquid under pressure is fed to flask center over pouring channel and with its help structural-reversible agent MRS volume equal to ingot volume is ejected out of flask. Further flask is affected by high uniform magnetic field and RMS is transformed in solid state. Processing liquid is poured off and hollow mould is filled up with liquid material for ingot. After ingot hardens magnetic fields are disconnected. MRS transforms into liquid state and it is poured off for further usage. EFFECT: enhanced process. 2 cl, 2 dwg
