FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes manufacturing of fire-resistant cover by application on molten model a suspension based on fire-resistant material using ethyl silicate as a binding agent. During formation, graphite is pre-applied on the surface of fire-resistant cover in casting box in quantity of 1 gr. per 1 cm2 of the area not considering the surface of pouring gate feeding system. The rest volume of casting box is filled with fire clay chips and is tightened with surface coating consisting of fire clay chips and liquid glass with thickness not less than 50 mm. Subsequent vacuum processing of fire-resistant cover moulded into casting box is performed after calcination before melted steel is added.
EFFECT: production of casts without surface oxidation or pitting corrosion.
