FIELD: thermionic method for converting heat energy to electricity; loop tests of reactor power-generating channels.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves setting of emitter temperature TE = 1670 - 1750 K, measurement of mean density of emitter heat flux qF = 60 W/cm2 and mean temperature of collectors Tc, K, and filling of electrode-to-electrode gaps with helium.
EFFECT: enhanced precision of detecting number of serviceable components at the same time preventing increase in emitter temperature.
