FIELD: powder metallurgy, in particular, production of caked porous metals.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing suspension of metal or oxide powder in solution of organic binder; applying resultant suspension onto substrate of porous polymeric material; drying blank; additionally depositing metal coat layer onto blank by providing chemical reduction of metal from its salt, said layer having thickness making 45-55% by weight of porous metal.
EFFECT: improved quality of caked porous metal blanks by eliminating formation of cracks therein.
