FIELD: hydro-acoustics, in particular, antenna engineering, possible use during construction of hydro-acoustic stations, and also in acoustic measurement devices.
SUBSTANCE: hydro-acoustic antenna contains a grid of electro-acoustic transformers, mounted in hermetic metallic body on common emitting cover plate. Walls of body on the side of working environment are plated with sound-absorbing screens, made primarily of polymer material, acoustic impedance of which approaches acoustic impedance of working environment. Thickness of sound-absorbing screens d is connected to coefficient of mechanical maximums η and value of decrease of incidental maximums ΔR, expressed in dB by expression dη/λ>024(1+ΔR/12), where λ - wave length in screen material at working frequency of antenna.
EFFECT: improved directional properties of antenna due to decreased value of incidental maximums.
