FIELD: speed measurement, in particular, technology for measuring speed of liquid or gas flow by measuring time spent for passage of given distance.
SUBSTANCE: by means of focused laser beam, marks are created in flow, which are registered and time of passage of given distance by these marks is determined. Marks are created by excitation of environment particles by two-frequency impulse laser radiation at combination of. registration of passage of given distance by marks is performed by means of periodical probing of environment by impulse focused laser radiation. Probing is performed with alternating delay relatively to mark-creating moments. Time of delay, during which mark gets into probing beam, is recorded.
EFFECT: increased precision of measurement and expansion of range towards increase of measured speeds.
