FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the ship acoustics and can be used in the submarines and surface ships. The vibration damping device for suppression of the minor amplitude acoustic oscillations and the acoustic radiation of the bodies of submarines and surface ships contains the supporting element and connected in tandem the sandwich of attached to each other damping plates. The thickness of each damping plate in the sandwich is 10÷30 times less than the thickness of the supporting element where the sandwich is affixed in a few points with the span of 50÷200 mm.
EFFECT: stability of time and temperature dependent oscillation damping qualities of device is increased.
