FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: vibration damping device for a vehicle body, preferably a vessel, comprises symmetrically arranged relative to damped body plate, damping and reinforcing layers of vibration-absorbing coating. It includes piezoelectric plates, control of bend movements of which is performed by means of external electric circuits.
EFFECT: reduced intensity of vibration of body structures of vehicles, considerable reduction of amplitude of oscillations in a wide frequency range, including in low frequency band, where use passive means reduction of vibration is ineffective.
