FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrument making and can be used in designing optical-mechanical devices for smooth adjustment of attenuation of an optical beam. The device comprises an optical wedge (1) made of optically absorbing material and an optical wedge (2) made of optically transparent material. The device is provided with two flat mirrors (3, 5) mounted at an angle of 45° to the right angle side of the optical wedges and at angle of 90° to each other. The device is also provided with a triple prism (4) mounted on the path of the beam reflected from one of the flat mirrors on the right angle side of the optical wedge (2). The optical wedge (2) faces the optical wedge (1) with the hypotenuse side. The flat mirrors (3, 5) and the triple prism (4) are mounted into a unit and are capable of moving along the right angle side of the optical wedges.

EFFECT: smoother and more accurate adjustment.
