FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method of producing bistrinitroethyl-ethylenedinitramine (substance “N”), used as explosive. Method is realised by reacting of methylol derivative of ethylenediamine neutralised with acid with nitroform followed by treatment of obtained product with sulphuric-nitric acid mixture, wherein in order to increase target product yield and increasing safety of process, as neutralising acid 70-80 % sulphuric acid is taken.
EFFECT: improved method of producing bistrinitroethyl-ethylenedinitramine; method also enables to eliminate necessity of frequent disconnection of paste-forming device to remove crust, breaking heat exchange in apparatus, and reduce consumption of acid per unit of finished product.
