FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the method improves strength, plastic and impact strength of steels. Steel 30x13 is annealed at 750 deg C, cooled in a furnace to 500 deg C and then in the air. Steel is subjected to high-temperature hardening and heated to 1200 deg C in a salt bath at a rate of 20 deg C/S and cooled in oil and then subjected to low- temperature tempering at 200 deg C.
