FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to surface continuous successive high-speed quenching of gear wheels, shafts and rolls, pulleys, cams, grippers, etc. from chromium stainless steels. To obtain a surface layer with hardness of up to 55 at depth of 2.5 mm, article is first improved, and then performing high-frequency heating with high-frequency currents to Ac3+(100–280) °C with a heating rate of 350–550 degrees/s and cooled at rate of 550–600 deg/s in a continuous-series manner.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for surface heat treatment of items from stainless chromium steels.
