FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: pre-starting heater has burner unit, heat absorber with outer surface made of polyhedral prism, thermoelectric batteries placed on the faces of the heat absorber, heat exchanger for cooling batteries, additional heat exchanger, and mechanism for pressing the batteries to the heat absorber. The pressing mechanism is provided with rings, which enclose the heat exchanger, shoes and bushings interposed between the shoes and the heat exchanger. Each shoe is made of a parallelepiped provided with bases parallel to axis of the heat absorber, opening for a thrust screw with longitudinal axis drawn through centers of the bases, perpendicular to the axis of the heat absorber, and coincident with axis of central opening of the bushing, and two grooves provided from the side of outer base relatively the heat exchanger, symmetrically with respect to longitudinal axis of the opening for the thrust screw, and bounded by bearing surfaces abutting on inner and face surfaces of a wheel pair. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of the heater owing to uniform pressing of thermoelectric batteries to the heat exchanger. 2 cl, 5 dwg
