FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: welding rectifier is step-down single-phase transformer with armored coil spatial magnetic circuit with magnetic shunt. Two rectifiers operating jointly are fed from secondary windings of transformer. One, uncontrolled rectifier cut on permanently has drooping external characteristic and increased voltage of idle running. This rectifier is used for welding of thin parts and for stabilization of welding arc of second controlled rectifier. Second controlled rectifier has flat characteristic, lower voltage and is used for welding of more massive parts jointly with the first one. Value of welding current of second rectifier is controlled by means of control unit. Design of transformer with armored spatial coil magnetic circuit makes it possible to reduce mass, dimensions and cost due to usage of wastes of electrical sheet steel left from manufacture of salient pole synchronous machines. Magnetic circuit protects windings of transformer from injuries from all sides. EFFECT: reduced mass, dimensions and cost of manufacture, improved protection from mechanical injuries. 2 dwg
