POWER SOURCE FOR ELECTRIC ARC WELDING Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: welding equipment, namely power sources for electric arc welding, possibly units for arc welding in different branches of machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: single-phase transformer of power source includes movable magnetic shunt, primary and two secondary windings. Secondary winding has three sections. One section of secondary windings is common for said windings. One end of each section is connected to the same connection point. Other ends of each section are connected with diagonals of two AC-voltage bridges having six valves. Outlets of bridges are connected in parallel with outlet of power source. It provides smooth electric current control and high operational reliability of power source.

EFFECT: enlarged assortment of electrode types providing stable electric arc burning at lowered energy consumption, lowered size and mass of source.
