FIELD: welding technique, namely arc welding systems. SUBSTANCE: power source includes single-phase transformer with two-core magnetic circuit, primary winding and two secondary windings. Each secondary winding is connected with its own non-controlled rectifier. Outputs of both rectifiers are connected in parallel relative to arc gap. All windings are in the form of two sections connected in series and in accordance one with another. Equal-level sections of primary winding are placed on different cores and spaced by the same distance from one yoke of magnetic circuit. Secondary windings are also placed on different cores in such a way that their first equal-level sections are spaced by the same distance from other yoke of magnetic circuit and their second sections are wound on sections of primary windings. Smooth control of welding current is realized by means of movable magnetic shunt arranged in window of magnetic circuit between primary winding and first sections of secondary windings. EFFECT: possibility of smooth control of welding current, reduced mass and size of source, lowered level of energy consumed from mains, high operational reliability. 3 dwg
