FIELD: medicine; gastroenterology. SUBSTANCE: in the first visual endoscopic examination, researchers obtained biopsy from portions of stomach which exhibited endoscopic symptoms of dysplasia, determined coordinates of those portions using cylindrical coordinate grid and then introduced them in data base. When examination revealed histological features of dysplasia or metaplasia, additional biopsies were derived from portions with earlier defined coordinates. If degree of dysplasia built up, researchers diagnosed malignant tumor in stomach. EFFECT: higher reliability of diagnosing early forms of stomach carcinoma in endoscopic examination.
