FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at simplifying the process of extraction of aluminium from anorthosites by means of liquation extraction of alkali chloride- aluminate melts from these rocks; it is possible to produce aluminium from these melts by elecrolyzing. The alkali chloride melts containing 10-25% (by mass) of AlCl are extracted directly from anorthosites by liquation. The melts are introduced directly into an electrolyte. The extraction is effected by fluorine and chlorine at 850-1200 C under normal atmospheric conditions without using specialized acid-resisting equipment. The aluminium is extracted from an electrolyte melt containing (in % by mass): NaCl 45-70; KCl 20-45; CaCl2 2-4; NaF 1-4; AlCl2 0.5-1 at 750-800 C. EFFECT: simplified process. 2 cl
