FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: built-up shaft, camshaft, transfer drive shaft or crankshaft in particular has at least one pipe body or several bodies located at distance from one another. Shaft is provided with elements mounted on it finally through expansion on longitudinal sections, such as cams, gear wheels, bushes of bearings or crank webs. Thickness of walls of shaft pipe body remains practically similar but diameter of pipe is reduced in sections between two elements owing to which in supplying an internal pressure, plastic deformation is likely to occur in the entire body of pipe in sections of larger diameter relative to drive elements to be mounted while deformation of sections of pipe of lesser diameters remains purely in elastic field. It is good practice to provide the shaft with bushes mounted between two elements which have larger diameter as compared with pipe body; ends of these bushes are pressed between pipe body in area of larger diameter and elements. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 12 cl, 2 dwg
