FIELD: hot water supply systems. SUBSTANCE: multipass shell-and-tube heat exchanger has horizontal housing 1, tube sheets 7, covers 5, heat-transfer agent supply and discharge branch pipes 2 and 3 and heat exchange tubes 8 which are brought in communication in succession by means of bypass passages made in form of grooves of the preset sizes in cover on side of heat-exchange tubes 8. Sectional covers 5 consist of round central and circular peripheral parts which are couples due to circular projections made on ends of the central portion and mating depressions made on the peripheral portion. Locking members are fitted between the central portion of the cover and tube sheet. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
