FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves pouring iron into converter; charging scrap; providing oxygen blasting; introducing slag-forming substances. Scrap is charged in two stages. When first portion of scrap is charged, iron is subjected to oxygen blasting and first portion of scrap is molten, with weight of first portion being equal to 168- 212 kg per 1 ton of iron. EFFECT: high quality of steel.
