FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device has a magnetoresistive sensor responsive to a position of a permanent magnet affixed to an object being monitored during measuring. The sensor is made in the form of four magnetoresistors having a shape of flat meanders and located on a common dielectric substrate in one plane in which the movable permanent magnet is arranged. The magnetoresistors are made of a permalloy film. The magnetoresistors connected in one of the arms of a bridge can be disposed orthogonally relative to the magnetoresistors of another bridge arm. The magnetoresistors are spaced form one another in at least one bridge arm by a distance selected with regard to their dimensions and magnetic parameters of the permalloy film and permanent magnet.
