FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: hot flue gases and aqueous acid solution are passed countercurrent to each other and come in contact for obtaining a gas-liquid mixture with its separation following. In the process the mixture is divided into a liquid flow and a dispersed one with the latter having its sulfuric acid content ranging from to 0,6-1,4 kg/m3. The dispersed flow is discharged to the stage subsequent in the flow direction and the liquid flow is fed to the preceding stage. As a result diluted is the mist phase formed from sulfuric acid in flue gases. EFFECT: in flue gases the formation of mist phase from sulfuric acid is prevented. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
