FIELD: medicine, particularly, traumatology and orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: this method prescribes passing Dacron thread through two parallel vertical passages in knee pan to enable thread loop to encompass kneecap base, tying up ends of thread at certain distance from line of rupture, suturing through entire thickness of patellar ligament using same thread to make Cuneo's corrugating suture. EFFECT: more reliable joining of separated ends of patellar ligament, creation of stable nonslackening compression in treated zone, reduction of immobilization period by 2 to 3 weeks, earlier start of functional treatment, lower probability of relapse, and more comprehensive recovery of function of knee joint.
