FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: circular housing of reserve seal is connected with load-carrying system. Reserve seal is provided with stuffing box with soft sealing gaskets and stuffing box cap. Gaskets located in load-carrying system embrace the shaft. Stuffing box cap is mounted in circular housing for axial motion and forming the unit, type cylinder-piston together with housing. Circular inflating member is located between walls of housing and stuffing box cap faying to them. Pressure medium supply pipe line is brought in communication with working medium being sealed through the pressure control member of the pressure medium. Spring return device secured on the load-carrying system acts continuously on the stuffing box cap on the side opposite to inflating member. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 4 dwg
