METHOD FOR DRY PURIFICATION OF HOT GAS STREAM AGAINST HYDROGEN CHLORIDE AND STEAMS OF METAL CHLORIDES AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: purification of gases. SUBSTANCE: hot gas stream containing impurities of HCL and steams of metal chlorides is injected into reactor, content of said steams being determined preliminary. Ammonia is fed into the same reactor, its excess is 5 mass % as calculated for quantity needed for production of metal nitrides. Solid phase products of reaction being metal nitrides are captured by inertial filter. Then gas stream is filtered through nozzle of CaCO₃ granules to purify against HCL. Temperature of nozzle is 400-500 C. Device for carrying out said method has body with bin; reactor with nozzles for feeding ammonia; electrically heated nipple, one of its edge is connected with mentioned above bin; heated nozzles with CaCO₃ granules. Said reactor is displaced inside bin, inner wall of said bin has heating surface. Degree of purification against HCL and against silicium and titanium chlorides is 93% and 95-96% respectively.
