FIELD: pickle liquid treatment. SUBSTANCE: iron oxide-containing waste water is treated with potassium hydroxide solution, pH 9-10. To the resulting mixture, there is added 3 % hydrogen peroxide solution to convert ferrous (II) oxide to ferric (III) oxide. The precipitated residue is filtered and dried at temperature < 120 C to give iron oxide pigments as the base material for production of paints and enamels. The filtrate is utilized as liquid potassium fertilizers. EFFECT: increased treatment efficiency. 1 tbl
