FIELD: test equipment. SUBSTANCE: two similar specimens (standard and test ones) are subjected to testing. The standard specimen is subjected to loading at temperature T1, and stress σk in specimen material corresponding to the beginning of breaking is determined, the test specimen is subjected to a successive influence of loading at temperature T1 (up to stress σu, determined from relation σu=/0,7-0,9/σk is specimen material, unloading, heating to preset temperature T2) and loading up to breaking; the number of cracks at the fracture of specimen material is selected as the parameter indicating the crack resistance, and temperatures T1 and T2 are determined from conditions T1≥ 0,9Tfl and T2≥ Tfl respectively, where Tfl - lower boundary of temperature of friable-tough transition of the material under testing.
