FIELD: DC electric propulsion plants of different ships. SUBSTANCE: propulsion plant electric drive has an electric power source, connected to which via contactor contacts are the commutators of a double-commutator motor, that are shunted by diodes, pulse-width converter that connects the motor field winding shunted by a diode and commutators to the electric power source. In the pulse-width converter a chain is connected in parallel with the power thyristor connected to the field winding circuit, the chain consists of an inductance coil and two auxiliary thyristors, and one more power thyristor is series-connected to the power thyristor connected to the armature circuit and shunted by a diode.
