FIELD: protection of roll mill stand from overloads. SUBSTANCE: protective-discharge device of roll mill stand with breakable member is mounted between pressure unit and roll chock. Device has punch, annular band with groove and base, which form working cavity filled with elastomer. In the first variant of embodiment band groove is made in the form of channel cut in outer surface of band; in the second variant groove is formed as opening with side surface extending parallel to longitudinal axis of band and its cross-section is formed by two arcs of concentric circles with center extending through band longitudinal axis, which are interconnected by arcs with radius equal to half the difference between radii of concentric circles arcs. Radius of channel (in the first variant of embodiment) is at least equal to band thickness. Distance between centers of arcs connecting arcs of concentric circles does not exceed band thickness. In the third variant of embodiment band groove is formed by a set of through openings of equal diameter with longitudinal axes extending parallel to longitudinal axis of band disposed on arc of a circle with center extending through longitudinal axis of band. The thickness of web disposed between adjacent openings does not exceed 0.1d, where d is diameter of openings. Distance between axes of outer openings does not exceed band thickness.
