FIELD: manufacture of hollow microspheres of zirconium oxide. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in subjecting powdery zirconium to oxidation in laminar, diffusive, self-maintaining, confined, oxygen-blown-off flame. Mass concentration of zirconium powder in flow ranges from 0.4 to 0.6 kg/cu. m and gaseous carrier (helium) and oxygen flow rates amount to 0.2 l/s and 1.0 l/s, respectively.
