METHOD OF APPLICATION OF COATING IN VACUUM BY ELECTRIC-ARC SPRAYING Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: vacuum technique. SUBSTANCE: method involves placement of backings with their flat surfaces in parallel with flow of settling material for simultaneous charging of up to six backings into chamber. After actuation of forevacuum pump 750 voltage current is fed to auxiliary electrode. The method involves simultaneous heating of backings and cleaning in glowing discharge for preparation of surface for coating. Preliminary evacuation lasts 5 min. Achievement of initial vacuum of 5 Pa is followed by burning vacuum arc discharge. After 2 min pressure in chamber reaches 1,33×10-1 Pa and after that tension on auxiliary electrode is increased up to 850 volts, after additional 5 min process of coating is finished.
