FIELD: computer technology. SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in systems for identification of images and allows to draw random-form code onto surfaces of articles. Under local effect on information carrier, the electro-physical properties of material or internal surface of information carrier are changed. Drawn code is read out by means of optical indication of distribution of magnetization by means of sensitive film magneto-optical element, which is mounted onto external surface of information carrier. Device for recording coded information is made in form of a die from elements for forming local magnetic field. Device for reading coded information out is made in form of light source, polarizer, magneto-sensitive element and analyzer. All the units are communicated optically and connected in series. The element is made in form of magneto-optical film which has cellular structure. Sizes of the cells are specified by condition of maximal admissible quantization of image to be read out.
