FIELD: applied magnetooptics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices control over light based on magnetooptical Faraday effect. Cell structure has nonmagnetic backing which carries layer of magnetic single-axis ferrite-garnet with monodomain regions. With use of diffusion annealing in presence of reducing agent monodomain regions are manufactured with summary magnetic moment directed along direction of magnetic moment in octahedron sublattice and intercell space is fabricated with magnetic moment directed along direction of magnetic moment in tetrahedron sublattice of garnet. Compensation of pulse moment can be provided in monodomain regions. Switching over of cells is carried out by mechanism of collapse of cylindrical magnetic domain with magnetic state of all cells being identical.
