FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: manufacturing process includes nickel deposition on highly porous fibrous or foamed material, heat treatment in hydrogen environment, electrochemical deposition of nickel hydroxide, forming, rinsing, and drying of plate, additional deposition of nickel by galvanic method in vicinity of plate-to- current-collector welded joint to obtain local porosity of maximum 10%, heat treatment in oxidizing environment prior to heat treatment in hydrogen environment at 600 100 C for 2-4 h, diffusion welding of current collector in vicinity of additional deposition of nickel at 450-550 C in hydrogen environment with hold-down pressure of current collector to highly porous nickel base of 500-1000 kgf/sq. cm applied for 5-30 min, heat treatment of highly porous nickel base at 250-350 C in oxidizing environment for 1-30 min, additional forming of plates in compressed state in excess electrolyte at current density of 50-100 mA/sq. cm; charge time is 1-2 h, discharge time, 0.5-1 h, compression pressure, 2-5 kgf/sq. cm, number of cycles, 10 to 40.
