SUBSTANCE: method comprises manufacturing a porous current collector, the synthesis of the active material, preferably nickel hydroxide, and filling the porous current collector with active material. According to the invention, manufacturing a porous current collector, the synthesis of the active material, preferably nickel hydroxide, and filling the porous current collector with active material are performed simultaneously by cathodic electrochemical treatment of the electrode base, consisting essentially of iron, in an aqueous solution containing at least nickel ions and nitrate ions.
EFFECT: electrode manufactured by the proposed method is significantly cheaper than analogues, provides increased oxygen evolution overvoltage and increasing the current output in charging the electrode as part of the capacitor.
