FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring the length ands spatial position in the system of rectangular coordinates of the axes of straight portions of pipe knees during templet bending of pipe, and calculating the parameters of each pipe knee bend. The bending parameters of subsequent pipe knees are calculated taking in account the bending inaccuracies of the preceding knees. The bending parameters are determined by the measuring system with reference to two signal radiators disposed on a straight line aligned with the axis of the initial straight section of pipe, or the one parallel thereto. One of coordinate axes is aligned with the pipe feed axis while the other one is directed parallel to the axis of the bending templet while the beginning of the coordinate system is set at the point where the pipe axis touches upon the average radius of the bending templet. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
