FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: three-layer slide bearing consists of outer metal race, intermediate flexible insert made of a net of pressed wire spirals and layer, which is made of Teflon rand rigidly secured to the insert. The flexible insert is made up of one net piece. The pitch of each spiral is equal to its diameter. Axes of the spirals are inclined to the long side of the net piece at 45 deg. The net piece is rolled up to provided a rectangular multi-layer strip of constant width and density by bending the net over lines perpendicular to long side of the piece so that its sloping ends are butted. The pressed strip is butt rolled up to provide ring insert which is secured in the metal race so that the butt is positioned at the top inoperative part of the bearing.
