FIELD: filtering element production. SUBSTANCE: method of producing filtering element from peat involves mixing peat with water to obtain homogeneous suspension, fractioning peat with separation of specified fraction, dehydration of separated fraction in vessel on screen filter under pressure and subsequent drying. Vessel with screen filter is covered from above with soft air-tight movable diaphragm, which acts on material in vessel in the course of its dehydration. Dehydration of peat to a water content of 87 to 89% is carried out at evacuation pressure of 10 to 20 kPa. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 1 tab
