FIELD: production of molded peat. SUBSTANCE: method for production of molded peat includes peat excavation from deposit and simultaneous separation of wood inclusions, laying of excavated peat into swath, molding peats into blocks at relatively low pressure, and arrangement of them into drying figures. Simultaneously with molding, the block is perforated along its entire cross-section to form longitudinal profile hollows over its side surface edges. Number of perforations and their spacing are taken to obtain equal in size connectors of molded block. Device for realization of the method includes excavating member mounted on excavator boom and molding mechanism with pressing heel. Excavating member has cover hinged to its front end. Molding mechanism is connected with pressing heed through overrunning mechanism made in form of chain circuits installed in pairs, whose one end is secured through sprocket mounted on movable bar to balance beam installed on support of pressing plate. The other end is connected through sprocket attached to support to plate of molding mechanism. Pressing plate is provided with holing rods uniformly spaced over area of working surface and its edges and passing through holes in plate of molding mechanism. Holing rods may be conical in shape. Each chain circuit has spring-loaded latch interacting with profiled hollows of movable bar coaxially with which the regulated end stop is installed. Chain circuits are connected with plate of molding mechanism through turnbuckle and toothed rack. Toothed racks in each pair of chain circuit have opposite inclination of teeth. Installed in ports of pressing plate are stops of respective shape interacting with toothed racks. Each circuit has single acting stop and deflecting flaps installed on common support turnable in vertical plane. Deflecting flaps have ridge interacting with flexible plate. Frame of pressing plate has two-sided stops interacting with deflecting flaps. EFFECT: improved drying conditions and higher strength of blocks of molded peat with slightly disturbed structure. 9 cl, 10 dwg
