FIELD: recovery of carbon-bearing materials. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding organic material by inert gas into reactor at an angle with respect to reactor axis through tangentially positioned nozzle 12 so that vortex flow is formed; supplying overheated gas flow from source 1 into reactor in backward direction with respect to direction of vortex flow through tangentially disposed nozzles 11; exposing material to overheated gas to obtain aerosol phase and fine particles; discharging aerosol phase across center through perforated pipe 19 and over peripheral portions through branch pipes 6; discharging solid particles over peripheral portions through branch pipes 8 below the level of discharging aerosol phase. EFFECT: increased efficiency of method. 3 cl, 2 dwg
