FIELD: facing of inside walls of rooms (railroad stations, underground railway stations) and interiors of vehicles (cars, cabins), manufacture of gaskets for engine cylinder blocks and stop valves of thermoelectric plants, etc. SUBSTANCE: composite material has an internal layer of low-dense filler and external reinforcing protective layers; the internal low-dense filler represents extended thermosplit graphite, and the external reinforcing protective layers are made of noncorrosive metals, for example, chromium, nickel, vanadium, copper, zinc or their alloys, with the relation of thicknesses of the filler and external layers being at least 5:1. The external layers coat the whole surface of the filler or part of it, different surfaces of the filler may coat different metals. Metal plating is applied by spraying, or electrolytic precipitation, different metals may be applied on different surfaces. A sheet of composite material, 2 mm thick, allows bending through 45 C without any peeling of metal, and at a thickness of 0.5 mm it can be rolled up. There are no harmful liberations at a high-temperature heating (up to 1200 C). At facing of airliner passenger compartment reduction of the facing weight may attain 44 to 48 % as compared with plastic material with a density of 2 g/cm3.
