FIELD: treatment of pieces of metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: method provides for connection of treated piece 7 and at least one of electrodes 3 - 6 to source of power 8, 9 and create between part of piece and at least one of electrodes 3 - 6 vacuum or protective medium, excite electric discharge between part of piece and at least one of electrodes 3 - 6 and, using the discharge, treat at least part of piece. New thing in the method is that directly after piece treatment by electric discharge it is subjected to treatment by pressure, for example, by rolling material of piece 7 or at least part of piece 7, that was treated by electric discharge. In the case, zone of treatment by pressure they keep vacuum or protective medium. Apparatus to realize the method has: chamber 1; means to create vacuum or protective medium in the chamber; at least one of located inside the chamber electrodes 3 - 6; source of power 8, 9, one output of which is connected to at least one of electrodes 3 - 6, and another output - to at least one of current feeders 10, 11 of treated piece 7; means 12, 13 to load and unload treated pieces in and out of chamber 1. New thing in the apparatus is presence of a mean for piece material treatment by pressure, at least one working unit of which is located inside chamber 1 after at least one of electrodes 3 - 6 in series of manufacturing process. The mean is made in the form of connected with drive rollers 14, 15, mounted on opposite sides of treated piece with capability to adjust distance between rollers and axis of piece.
