ROAD PAVEMENT COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2028990 C1

FIELD: highway engineering. SUBSTANCE: this road pavement composition includes at least 85 percent by mass fillers and bitumen having concentration of less than 600 units at temperature of 25 C and containing dissolved basic catalyst, that is, organic compound including manganese or cobalt or copper or admixture of two and more of them, in which anion is selected from group including carboxylic acid, alcohol, phenol and ketone, and having chain length of up to 30 carbon atoms. Required amount of basic catalyst ranges between 0.01 and 0.50 percent by mass of bitumen in terms of manganese and/or cobalt and/or copper ion. Organic iron compound soluble in bitumen is employed as auxiliary catalyst. Admixture of these catalyst to be introduced may be dissolved in organic oil prescribed amount of which is within 0.5 to 16.0 percent by mass of common metal ions. Required amount of mixture of basic and auxiliary catalysts is between 0.015 and 0.5 per cent by mass of bitumen or 0.05 to 0.5 percent by mass in terms of ions of iron and manganese and/or cobalt and/or copper, or 0.05 to 0.5 percent by mass, preferably 0.05 to 0.25 percent by mass. Amount of auxiliary catalyst to be introduced must be within 0.005 to 0.20 percent by mass in terms iron ions, preferably 0.01 to 0.15 percent by mass. Prescribed amount of basic catalyst to be introduced must range from 0.05 to 0.25 percent by mass of bitumen in terms of ions of manganese and/or cobalt and/or copper. Bitumen must preferably have penetration factor between 40 and 300 at temperature 25 C. Auxiliary catalyst contains anion selected from group including carboxylic acid, alcohol, phenol and ketone. Carboxylic anion includes up to 30 carbon atoms. EFFECT: disclosed composition is highly durable and capable of acquiring durability very rapidly. 12 cl, 4 tbl
