FIELD: metallurgical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves crushing powdered fluorine-containing material in advance until the amount of the fraction not exceeding 8 microns in size is not under 25 wt.-%, moistening it then heat treating dried granules at 300-350 C. Fluorine-containing material is aluminium fluoride, commercial cryolite, mixture of aluminium fluoride with cryolite and sodium fluoride, mixture of commercial cryolite with sodium fluoride. Produced granular material is characterized by average breaking load up to 13 kg/granule. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 2 tbl
