FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of ethylene oxide with butadiene-1,3 monoepoxyde in the presence of basic catalyst. Butadiene-1,3 oxide is treated with water in the presence of anion-exchange resin in HCO3-form at the molar ratio H2O:monoepoxyde:active group of anion-exchange resin = (10-20):1:(0.15-0.30) at 60-80 C at uniform dosing of monoepoxyde to reaction mass, anionite separation and water evaporation. Alkaline metal monoglycolate is used as a catalyst, and process is carried out at 120-150 C at molar ratio initial butadiene monoepoxyde: ethylene oxide:catalyst = 1:(10-55):(0.15-0.75).
