FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: fuel is displaced gas from a fuel pipe line to be tested into the measuring tank which is preliminary filled with fuel. The volume of fuel should be equal to the volume of gas displaced from the fuel pipe line to be tested. The device comprises connected in series fuel reservoir 1 having filter 10 and cock 2, fuel pipe line to be tested 3, measuring tank 4 with scale 5, pressure pipe 8, top 14 and bottom 9 cocks, and vessel 11 for collecting fuel displaced from measuring tank 4. Before testing, fuel is issued from reservoir 1 at open cocks 2,14 and displaces gas from working fuel pipe line 3 and measuring tank 4 to the atmosphere through cock 14. Cocks 2,14 are then closed and working fuel pipe line 3 is changed by fuel pipe line to be tested 4. In so doing, fuel 4 is issued from the measuring tank to vessel 11. Cock 9 is then closed and the volume of fuel can be judged by the steady-state fuel level in measuring tank 4 using scale 5. In testing, reservoir 1 is positioned so that fuel level difference between reservoir 1 and the inlet of measuring tank does not exceed 100 mm.
